Privacy Policy for Access-a-Clipboard

Access-a-Clipboard ("the extension") is a Chrome extension developed by Carrie on Accessibility. This policy explains what information the extension handles and how.
Summary
Access-a-Clipboard does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data with anyone, including us. Everything you save stays on your own device (and, for a small set of preferences, in your own private Chrome sync account). There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no external server involved at any point.
What Is Stored, and Where
Saved entries — the titles, content, notes, tags, and shortcut codes you save — are stored using Chrome's local storage, directly on your device. They are never transmitted anywhere.
A small set of preferences — your chosen theme, view mode, and default formatting option — are stored using Chrome's sync storage, which syncs privately across your own signed-in Chrome devices through your Google account, the same way your browser bookmarks do. We do not have access to this data; it never passes through any server we control.
How Content Gets Into the Extension
You can add entries manually, or use two optional features that read from or write to the webpage you're currently on:
Quick Add reads the text you've selected on a webpage (and any images or links within that selection) only at the moment you explicitly right-click and choose "Add to Access-a-Clipboard," or use a keyboard shortcut you've assigned for that purpose. It is never triggered automatically or in the background.
Shortcut Paste inserts a saved entry's content directly at your cursor on a webpage only when you explicitly type that entry's shortcut code into the extension and press Enter.
Both features only ever act on the single tab you are actively using at that exact moment, and only when you take a deliberate action to trigger them. Neither feature monitors your browsing, reads other tabs, tracks what pages you visit, or runs in the background.
What We Don't Do
- We do not collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial information, authentication credentials, personal communications, location data, browsing history, or user activity data (clicks, keystrokes, scrolling, etc.).
- We do not use analytics or tracking of any kind.
- We do not display advertising.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party, because we do not have access to it in the first place.
- We do not use any remote or externally-hosted code — everything the extension runs is bundled within the extension itself.
Your Control Over Your Data
- You can delete any saved entry at any time from within the extension, or use its built-in "Delete Everything" option to remove all of your saved entries at once.
- Uninstalling the extension removes its locally stored data from your device.
- You can review or export all of your saved entries at any time using the extension's built-in backup feature.
Children's Privacy
Access-a-Clipboard does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all — everything stays on the user's own device.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "Last Updated" date.
